About the Instructor
Greg Peters was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho where he and his wife are now raising a family of their own. He began his piano studies with both Ann and Jerry Shively. Greg later studied under Virginia Willard, during which time he spent a couple of years playing with the Idaho Falls Symphony. He has shared his musical talent with Idaho Falls for over 20 years. Greg is currently president of the Idaho Falls Music Teacher’s Association which provides training workshops for other piano teachers. Greg has played in many musical groups and ensembles in a variety of styles such as light jazz, classical, Dixieland, and pop. You may have even heard one of his CD’s! After working as a software programmer for 15 years, he has integrated his musical talents with technology in his downtown studio.
Maple Leaf Piano Studio (named for the famous “Maple Leaf Rag” by Scott Joplin) is located at 365 B street. With both acoustic and digital pianos, computer software for music theory study, MIDI disks, players and sound generators, software for musical composition and arranging, and digital recording capabilities, it is the piano studio for the 21st century. Greg is currently accepting new students (5 yrs old and up.) Remember: You are never too old to learn!
