About Lori
I was born and raised in Waldorf, Maryland and hold a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Pedagogy from Carson-Newman College (1986). I am a permanent professional nationally certified teacher of music (NCTM) in piano and have served as Vice President for Student Activities and Teacher Workshops for MTACC (Music Teachers Association of Charles County). I have served as president of IFMTA (Idaho Falls Music Teachers Association) and president of IFMC (Idaho Falls Music Club). I have presented on topics such as Professionalism, Sight Reading, Memorization, and Student Repertoire. I have many years of experience in accompanying and teaching. I strongly believe in the importance of music literacy, artistry, and keeping students interested through setting goals and providing motivating music. I believe the secret to success in piano is found in three applications: Practice, Patience and Perseverance. I have a total number of 19 academic years in piano instruction and have been teaching for over 30 years.
